We are seeking a Senior Engineer, System Safety Certification to join our rapidly growing team developing state-of-the-art modular hydrogen capsule technology and a fuel cell-electric powertrain for the world’s first zero-emissions regional airliner. You will be working with engineering, program, and supplier teams that are rapidly iterating the design and testing of a leading-edge hydrogen powertrain for aircraft. You will play a pivotal role in the design and certification of both a revolutionary propulsion system and a significant aircraft modification program.
About the Role
- Prepare certification plans, compliance deliverables, airworthiness directives, and alternative methods of compliance (AMOCs).
- Review certification data, certification schedule, and resolve certification issues.
- Develop and manage certification processes, tools, and procedures.
- Develop test criteria in accordance with FAA requirements and witness tests as required.
- Work with the engineering team to ensure that design, development, and FAA approval adhere to FAA regulations.
- Evaluate customer and operational regulatory requirements, and provide regulatory support to customers or suppliers.
- Significant aircraft certification experience.
- Advanced skills in writing test plans, procedures, and reports.
- Significant experience working with the FAA.
- Knowledge of certification-related industry standards (ASTM, RTCA, SAE, EUROCAE).
- Experience on SAE ARP-4754 process and ARP-4761 tools.
- In-depth understanding of flight control systems.
- Comfortable and willing to travel.

Founded by former executives from Airbus, United Technologies, Google, and DARPA, and backed by investors such as Playground Global, Tencent, Toyota, GE, JetBlue, and Airbus, we are convinced that hydrogen is the best and only scalable solution to truly decarbonize aviation, and we want to bring it to market decades sooner—by 2025.
